My new doll

Millie Kate did so good at her doctors appointment yesterday, especially since she had 4 shots, that her Kanga bought her a new doll. We all thought for sure that MK would have brown hair and brown eyes that all the dolls that we bought her before she was born have brown hair, she didn't have any dolls that looked like her. So yesterday when we went to Babies R Us after her 4 month check up we saw this cute little doll and when Kanga showed it to Millie Kate, she grabbed her and starting eating her braids. We knew then that she had to have her. Now she finally has a blonde hair, blue eyed baby doll that looks like her!

While we were playing this morning, Presley came and snuggled right up to Millie Kate's head. She's looking at me like, "Mama, get this dog away from me".

4 Fun months!

It's so hard to believe that Millie Kate is already 4 months old. She has changed so much and is at such a fun age. In the last month she has started sleeping in her own crib, rolling over, sleeping through the night, laughing out loud, sticking out her tongue, making razzy sounds, tripod sitting, reaching for and playing with toys and grabbing her toes. The last 4 months have been so much fun, I can't wait to see what's in store for the next 4!!

I love my silky!

Found my toes!

Millie Kate has found her feet. They are still new to her and she hasn't started putting them in her mouth yet, but she reaches for them and grabs on to her toes!

This is the first time she grabbed them!

New tricks

Phew! The past couple of weeks have been busy ones for Miss Millie Kate. She is doing all kinds of new things and she's changing everyday!! Besides the rolling over, she's been sticking out her tongue and she loves to copy people when they do it and she's able to make razzy sounds now. She and I spend a lot of time sticking our tongues out at each other! She's also started to try and sit up on her own, grab for toys and hold them by herself. She's also "talking" more and more everyday and the smiles and laughs are endless. She is at such a fun age and we're enjoying every minute of it!!!!

Pigs & Peaches

Friday night we went to Kennesaw to Pigs & Peaches. Brian's cousins were in town from Asheville, so we took the chance to spend some time with them. It was a fun night of BBQ, Music, and family!!

I'm on a roll!

Millie Kate rolled over last night for the first time!!! We had put her to bed and about 30 minutes later, she started crying. Brian went up to check on her and started yelling for me to come and see her. I knew right way that she had rolled over. I grabbed my camera and ran upstairs. We kept putting her on her back to see if she would do it again. She did it about 4 more times crying the whole time. We finally put her back to bed. So this morning I tried putting her on the floor to see if she could do it. She would get so close but never quite make it over. I tried putting her in her crib again and she did it a few times. So I tried putting her on the floor one more time and she did IT!!! It's so strange how when you become a parent the littlest things become BIG things and they bring you so much joy!! Here's a little video of her rolling over this morning on the floor. Sorry about my annoying voice.

Virginia Trip

On Sunday, my mom, sister, Millie Kate and I drove 10 hours up to Richmond, VA to visit my mom's family. Her 99 year old aunt and sister live up there and they hadn't met Millie Kate yet. MK was wonderful the whole trip, we really couldn't have asked for her to be any better. She slept most of the 10 hour drive up and when she was awake, she had her Kanga next to her to sing with and play finger puppets with. When she met Aunt Linny(her 99 year old Great, Great Aunt) she was so cute and just smiled and laughed the whole time! It was such a special moment. Aunt Linny kept saying that Millie Kate was "the cutest thing she'd seen in her whole life". I guess she has forgotten how cute Stephanie and I were, but I guess that happens when your 99!! On Monday my mom's sister and her three grandkids came over. They loved playing with Millie Kate and kept fighting over who got to hold her. They hated it when we put her down for her nap and they would try to sneak in there to get a peak of her sleeping.

While we were there we would put Millie Kate in her bumbo in the middle of the table while we ate. Aunt Linny thought this was the coolest thing and Millie Kate didn't think it was so bad either!!

There is a park up there called Maymont, that our granddaddy use to take us to all the time and we loved it. They have animals, gardens, and the neatest pathways you could explore. Stephanie and I decided we wanted to go since we hadn't been in 15 years of so. It was just as beautiful, except we didn't get to explore any of the pathways since they weren't very stroller friendly, but we had fun anyway and I'm glad we went. The picture above is of the stone steps that go across the pond. This was my favorite part, I loved walking across them when I was little. Again, not very stroller friendly, so I didn't get to this time, but maybe one day we'll take Millie Kate back up there.

It was such a fast trip, but I'm so glad we were able to go. It was very special to take my little girl to my favorite childhood place and to have her meet my aunts. We look forward to taking her back up there this December for Aunt Linny's 100th Birthday party!!!
