The Journey to IL

Last weekend Brian, MK, Brian's dad, and I loaded up in the Explorer and drove 10 hours up to Alton, IL to see Brian's brother, Scott, and his family. Scott just got home from a year deployment in Afghanistan and we wanted to welcome him home and let him know how proud of him we are and how much we appreciate what he did. Plus Millie Kate really wanted to meet her uncle! As usual, MK did awesome on the trip, which was a total of 21 hours in the car! On our way up, we stopped in Nashville to see Wendi. We were even able to go by Katie's school and surprise her with a visit. Our time in IL was very short, but we tried to make the most of if. Saturday we went to an Apple Festival in a near by town and that night all the grown ups went out to dinner. It was good to see Scott, Sarah, and Travis and we can't wait to see them again for Thanksgiving. But this time, they will have to drive down here!!!
